ISLAMABAD (Online) President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the war against terrorism will be taken to its logical end and Malakand Division will be purged of terrorists soon. The President expressed these views while talking to a delegation of US Senators who called on him here in Presidency on Monday. The US delegation consists of Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson. Sources said that during the meeting, issues pertaining to the US-Pakistan bilateral relations, war against terrorism, security situation in the region and other important issues including the issue of core issue of Swat were discussed in detail. The sources further added that President Zardari was of the view that sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terror were countless and now this war would be taken to its logical end in order to protect future of its youth. Zardari said that the Army enjoyed the full support of entire nation, and vowed that the government would not compromise at any cost with militants and with those who will challenge writ of government, he added. He further said that the Swat operation would continue until its real objectives were attained, maintaining that the operation was moving towards success and would be wrapped up very soon. Similarly, he told the delegation that the government of Pakistan was taking all-out measures for the rehabilitation of IDPs; further maintaining that after prevalence of peace the government would have to work on a war-footing basis for the rehabilitation of IDPs in their respective areas. The sources further added that US senators delegation assured their complete cooperation and said that US always stood with Pakistan in critical time.
