Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Ch has allowed prime accused in Bank of Punjab Scandal Hamesh Khan to meet with his family. A three-member bench of apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, is currently hearing the Punjab Bank scam case. Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday and Justice Ghulam Rabbani are other members of the bench. Counsel for Hamesh Khan, Mehmood Sheikh prior to start of formal hearing prayed before the court that Hamesh Khan's family is present in the court room and he be allowed to meet them. He told that NAB was requested to allow Hamesh Khan to meet his family but NAB denied the request. On this Chief Justice allowed Hamesh Khan to meet his wife, sister and daughter who were present in the courtroom. CJ directed Supreme Court administration and NAB authorities to allow the meeting of Hamesh Kahn with his family members in the meeting room of the registrar office and also directed that during the meeting no NAB official or any other unauthorized person should be present so that the family members could discuss their private matters. Hamesh Khan was transported here Wednesday morning from Lahore under tight security. The accused of Haris Steel Mills scam, who was brought back from the United States under NAB supervision, was kept at Chamba House in Lahore. His transfer to Islamabad was kept secret due to security reasons.
