RAWALPINDI (APP) - - Egyptian Ambassador Magday Mahmud Helmay Amer on Tuesday visited Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (RCCI) here and divulged his countrys investment plans in solar, wind, renewable energy sectors aiming to help overcome the power loadshedding problem. Addressing the business community the ambassador said Pakistan is the best country for investment and soon Egyptian investment would start pouring in here. Both the brotherly countries are in close contact and would sign a a free trade agreement soon. A joint strategy was also being evolved to increase bilateral trade. Egypt was Ready to provide every possible facility to Pakistani businessmen for enhancing bilateral trade, he added. Pakistani cotton yarn, textile, rice, surgical instruments, fish, tobacco, and sports goods are in great demand in Egypt, he said adding that bilateral trade between them has dropped significantly to $ 230 million in the year 2009 from $ 320 million in the year 2008. In a bid to enhance bilateral trade Egypt is ready to help business community of Pakistan. There would be no visa problem for Pakistani businessmen, he added. He said keeping in view global recession, Muslim countries must join hands to overcome the crisis. Addressing on the occasion President RCCI Kashif Shabbir said Pakistan is depleted with natural resources - the only need is to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade. He urged the Egyptian ambassador to invest in Pakistan. He stressed enhancing bilateral trade saying a delegation of RCCI would soon visit Egypt to hold meetings with business community of Egypt Former president RCCI Najamul MAlik, Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, members of executive and prominent businessmen were present on the occasion.
