APCA protest denial of salaries raise

MULTAN - The members of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) staged a protest against the price hike and denial of raise in their salaries here on Wednesday, demanding at least 200 percent increase in their salaries. The clerks assembled at different places and carried out non-stop sloganeering against the government. The protesters blocked Kutchery and Abdali roads as a sign of protest. Resultantly, traffic jam took place on both the roads. Talking to the journalists, they said that concurrent increase in prices crushed worker class. They said that the government workers were faced with serious financial crisis. Were unable to make both the ends together. Our children are starved but the government does nothing to control price hike, they lamented. They demanded of the government to increase their salaries in proportion with price hike otherwise they would be forced to launch a protest drive. They warned that they would lock up all government offices if their demands were not met. BZU LLB RESULTS: The Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan has declared the result of LL.B Part-1 (Annual System) First Annual Examination, 2010 here on Wednesday. According to the result notification, a total of 2119 candidates appeared in the examination out of which 787 were declared successful with 37.16 percent overall success ratio. As many as 1331 candidates failed to qualify the examination while the result of one candidate will be announced later on. The female candidates outshined male ones as the success ratio among them stood at 43.29 percent compared to that of 36.41 percent of male candidates. A total of 1888 male candidates took the examination and 687 got through while 1200 failed. Similarly, as many as 231 female candidates appeared in the examination and 100 could make it while 131 remained unsuccessful.
