LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed Chief Secretary Nasir Mahmood Khan Khosa for taking an immediate action against the unauthorised occupants of Gazetted Officers Residences, located in various areas. In a letter written to Khosa by Secretary to CM Dr Syed Tauqir Shah, the CS has been 'requested to take immediate necessary steps to implement the directions of the CM and an implementation report along with lists of such occupants may be furnished to the Secretariat for his information/orders. It has been maintained that while reviewing occupancy position of GORs, the CM had noted with concern unauthorised occupation of government residences by civil/police officers without entitlement and even after retirement. The CM has directed that immediate necessary action may be taken to get such official residences vacated, which were under unauthorised occupation. Moreover, penal action should be taken against unauthorised occupants as per law including imposition/charging of penal rent from them and action under pension rules, demanded the CM, while asserting that the respective Principal Accounting Officers have a key responsibility in this aspect.
