Friendship role model for others

GUJRAT - Leadership and the public should give prime importance to the national interests. None is permanent foe and friend in the foreign relations. It is the national interest which should be safeguarded at all cost. Pakistan at present is on critical juncture on foreign relations. People at the helm of affairs of the country should behave cautiously while managing foreign relations. These remarks were passed by the former Foreign Secretary Akram Zaki while addressing as chief guest in the seminar on Pak-China Relations: Challenges and Opportunities here at University of Gujrat on Wednesday. The seminar was organised by the Centre for History International Relations, Political Science and Pakistan Studies (CHIPP). Former ambassador Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Additional Foreign Secretary Syed Hassan Javaid and Prof Dr Aman Ullah Memmon from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad were among the panellists who addressed the seminar. While welcoming the guest speakers at the seminar and highlighting the Pak-China Relations, UoG Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin opined that it is needed to maintain a durable friendship between Pakistan and China to setup a Chinese centre for learning cultural and language in Pakistan. The University of Gujrat may facilitate to setup the Confucius Centre at its campus. In the second session, former ambassador Mr Iqbal Ahmad Khan narrated the history of Pak-China relations. He termed the Pak-China friendship as role model in the comity of nations. Additional Secretary Foreign Office Syed Hassan Javaid narrated a detailed presentation on different dimensions of Pak-China friendship. He also explained the situations of strategic relations between the too friendly countries. He explained all the significance dimensions of the Pak-China friendship. He also highlighted the socio-cultural and philosophical values of the Chinese. Dr Aman Ullah Memmon in his address explained all the significant dimensions of the Chinese role in the South Asia. Human rights activist and renowned media man Hussain Naqi also addressed the seminar. He narrated in detail the leadership qualities of the Chinese leader. He explained various human qualities of the Chinese leaders which provided significant directions to its nation. He explained on the occasion different events while commemorating Pak-China friendship. Later, faculty and students extensively questioned the guest speakers on various interesting subjects of Pak-China friendship.
