KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Quaid Altaf Hussain has severely condemned the terrorist attack at the PNS Mehran Base in Karachi and expressed his profound sorrow and grief over the loss of lives of brave officers and soldiers of the Navy and Rangers. He prayed for the eternal peace of the martyred officers and soldiers. He also expressed pain and distraught over the loss of expensive reconnaissance aircraft. He further stated that penetration of a few terrorists into such an important and sensitive defence installation is not only a matter of grave concern for the entire nation but is also strange. Altaf further stressed that entire nation believes that penetration of a few terrorists into such a sensitive defence installation where not hundreds but thousands of trained armed defenders were present, fighting for 16 hours, destroying important aircraft, killings the commandoes of the Navy and Rangers and in return not suffering a single casualty but blowing themselves up by bombs and escaping from the base is tantamount of naked defeat of our national defence institutions. He said that it is now imperative and the demand of the time that the defence institutions review their policies and deal with the terrorists and their abettor whether civilian or military with an iron hand. Concluding his statement, he emphatically appealed to the nation that there was no option left for the nation but to offer prayers of Astaghfar (forgiveness) before the Almighty Allah for the safety and security of the country. Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Quaid Altaf Hussain has condemned the suicide car bomb blast on a police station at University Road in Peshawar in which five police personnel were killed and several others got seriously injured.
