Pakistan calls for greater coop among SCO states to combat terrorism, extremism

Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries have agreed to further strengthen and deepen judicial cooperation, reported by Radio Pakistan.

This was stated in a joint statement issued after the 13th conference of presidents of supreme courts of SCO member countries in Beijing.

The representatives called for cooperation against cross-border crime, and improvement in settling international civil and commercial disputes.

In his address at the conference, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar stressed the need for greater cooperation among SCO member states to combat problems such as terrorism and extremism in the region.

He said all civil courts in Pakistan have been asked not to issue ex-parte stay orders in respect of CPEC related projects and this initiative will improve the confidence level of foreign investors in Pakistan’s judicial system and will give a sense of protection, comfort and peace of mind while investing in Pakistan.
