KARACHI - Ejaz Sarhadi of Pakistan eased into the quarter final of 45 plus singles event of the international senior tennis defeating Charlier Francois of Belgium in straight sets in the second round here on Monday night at Karachi Club courts. Sarhadi won 6-2,6-3 without much difficulty. The championship sponsored by PSO and organised by Pakistan Seniors Tennis Association has attracted a few foreign players. Alamgir Shaikh, sports Convenor Karachi Club formally inaugurated the championships. Also present on the occasion were Aqil Abbasi, Brand Manager Pakistan State Oil, Khwaja Saeed Hai, President, Pakistan seniors Tennis Association and Jamal Mirza, Sr. Vice President PSTA. First day first round results. 45 plus singles 1st round: Latif Yar Khan beat Altaf Abdul Aziz 6-3,6-1 2nd Round: Tahir Gul (top seed) beat Kamran Mirza 6-4,6-3, Ali Raza w/o Zafrul Hasan, Fayaz Ahmed w/o Fawad Ijaz, Azharuddin beat Abbas Raza 6-3,6-2. 35 Plus singles 1st round: Javed (Balochistan) w/o Karim Gul. 2nd Round: Ejaz Sarhadi beat Charlier Francois ( Belgium) 6-2,6-3, Zulfiqar Hakim w/o Asif Sheikh (Hyderabad), Mubarak Shah ( Peshawar ) beat Suhail Qadir (Baluchistan) 6-0, 6-4
