Ushna, Saba crash out of Future Tennis Circuit

ISLAMABAD - All the dazzle turned into gloom national duo Ushna Suhail and Saba Aziz crashed out of the 1st ITF Pakistan Women's Future Tennis Circuit at PTF Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue on Tuesday. Traditional rivals Indian girls showed the door to local players. The high ups of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) were celebrating the wins of both the players just a day back at the same venue but they failed to produce results on Wednesday and lost their matches in straight sets in the similar way 6-1 and 6-0. However, DeLattre M (Portugal), Shin Jung-Yoon (Korea), Kim Hae-Sung (Korea), Ventkataraman (India), Burman Shivika (India), Venkatesha P (India) Solanki K (India) and Goswami Parul (India) moved in to the quarterfinal of the 1st ITF Pakistan Women's Future Tennis Circuit 2008 by beating their respective opponents. The quarterfinals of the single event will be played today (Tuesday) at PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad. Top seed De Lattre from Portugal was in excellent form and eliminated Reddy Harshini of India without conceding the single game in both set at 6-0 and 6-0 by displaying a powerful forehand and backhand drives. She will take on Shin Jung Yoon of Korea in the quarterfinal today (Wednesday) at the same venue. Shin Jung of Korea eliminated Prerana of India in straight sets 6-0 and 6-3 to reach in the top eight stage of the international tennis tournament. Meanwhile, the 4th seed Kim Hai Sung of Korea proved too good for Arthi of India and did not allow her to settle down throughout the match with her cross-court and down the line shorts. She won first set at 6-0 with conceding a single game by breaking 2nd, 4th and 8th game of her challenger Arthi. In the second set, she kept the same pressure and won the 2nd set at 6-1 b breaking 2nd and 7th game of Arthi. Ventkataraman A got the walk over again Ham Hi-Rae, who could not report for the match. However, the 6th seed Burman Shivika of India struggled hard to win her encounter against Bhatta Charyya in a well-contested two sets match 6-4 and 6-3, as the match last in two hours. In the other fixture of the day, 3rd seed Benkatesha P of India finished the hope of Pakistani players by beating Saba Aziz in straight set 6-1 and 6-0. Solanki K of India was also too good for Ushna Suhail of Pakistan. She won her match in straight set 6-1 and 6-0. The last quarterfinal of the double event will be played today.
