DCO denies using govt machinery

OUR STAFF REPORTER BAHAWALPUR - DCO Dr Naeem Rauf has denied the allegations of using government machinery for the bypoll of PP-275 in favour of PML-N candidate Khalid Mehmood Jajja and termed the allegations baseless. He assured that all-out efforts would be made to keep peace during polling to ensure fair, free and transparent election. He urged the candidates and their supporters to cooperate with the district administration in this regard to maintain law & order situation. It is mention worthy that, eleven candidates are in the run while the main contenders are PML-Ns Khalid Mehmood Jajja, PML-Qs Ch Ehsanul Haq and independent Ch Mohammad Saeed. 115 polling stations have been set-up in the constituency from which 49 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 360 polling booths have been set up from which 197 are for men and remaining for ladies. The registered voters in the constituency are 158,455 out of which 87,023 are male and the remaining are female. The polling will remain continue from 8:00am to 5:00pm without break and both the old and new National Identity Cards will be valid for casting votes.
