OUR STAFF REPORTER FAISALABAD - DCO Naseem Sadiq has directed officers of the departments concerned to complete the Muharram arrangements with full responsibilities and coordinated efforts should be mobilised to make the security plan a success. He was presiding over a meeting held here on Thursday at his committee room to review the security arrangements during Muharram. MPA Kh Islam was also present in the meeting. The DCO said that to maintain law & order situation and religious harmony, Muharramul Harram was a big challenge and the departments concerned should realise their tasks for the peaceful observance of Ashura. He directed the officials that all the obstacles should be removed from the routes of mourning processions besides inspections of installations of electricity and sui gas. He said that joint inspections should be carried out by the officers concerned of the routes and sites of majalis for ensuring the cleanliness and removing garbage. He said that all kinds of wall chalking should immediately be washed out. The DCO said that the security gadgets including walk-through gates, mettle detectors, scanners and CCTV cameras should be made available on the important points of processions and majalis in operational conditions. Stressing upon the activating the rescue arrangements, he directed the health department officers to put the emergency medical services in the hospitals on high alert and sbeels of water and milk should also be checked by the health officials to avoid any poisoning elements. The DCO said that the control room at teshsil and district level would be remained active during Muharram and focal persons should be nominated by the departments concerned in this regard.
