LAHORE - While addressing the foundation day function of Pakistan Peoples Party here on Friday, Punjab Governor, Sardar Latif Khan Khosa cast aspersions on leadership qualities of Mian Nawaz Sharif, saying that how could a person afraid of mosquitoes become a leader. One has to give blood and sacrifice life for the people to become a true leader, he observed, adding that Mian Nawaz Sharif preferred exile to imprisonment leaving the nation at the mercy of a dictator. The PPP celebrated its 45th foundation day at Aiwan-i-Iqbal five days before the actual date (November 30) because of impending month of Moharram. PPPs Central Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, General Secretary Samiullah Khan, Opposition Leader Raja Riaz and partys Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki also addressed on the occasion. In an expression of solidarity, PPP leaders sat among the party workers while the centre stage remained occupied with jialas who also showed a degree of indiscipline while struggling to make room near to the dice. The unruly workers kept raising slogans through out the proceedings. The workers left their seats and gathered around the dice while leaders were delivering speeches. The charged party activists danced to the tunes of songs made on Z.A Bhutto to keep the atmosphere warm. Former provincial minister Ashraf Sohna led the dance performance after intervals. A good number PPP activists turned up to attend the ceremony held in connection with partys foundation day falling on November 30. Addressing the ceremony, Khosa further stated that PPP founder, Z.A Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives for democracy unlike the PML-N leaders who left the nation in the lurch when their presence was very much required in the country to fight against dictatorship. He alleged that Nawaz Sharif deceived Benazir Bhutto after signing the Charter of Democracy, as he started conspiring against the political set up in the very beginning. He said Pakistan would have been a prosperous country had Nawaz Sharif stuck to the CoD. He said Nawaz Sharif could not hoodwink the public by holding rallies of government servants, police and hooligans. Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz Safdar said: One has to give blood and sacrifice life to make the party a party of the masses. He added that all these traits were lacking in the PML-N leadership. Warraich asked Nawaz Sharif to do fair politics and avoid telling lies. Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said that PPP jialas had gird up their loins to give a final push to Punjab governments dwindling wall. He said those who were cherishing the thought of President Zardaris exit, were highly mistaken. Both Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif together could not remove Asif Ali Zardari, he averred. Throwing a challenge on PML-N, he said that PPP would defeat the PML-N in the coming elections by making Punjab a fortress of PPP. Samiullah Khan on this occasion read out a declaration pledging that PPP would continue struggle for establishment of an equitable society under the dynamic leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The PPP workers would remain steadfast despite economic and social deprivation, and undo the nefarious designs of treacherous elements, it further stated. Expressing confidence in the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP leaders vowed to make the party a party of the masses. Raja Riaz said that PPP would form the next government while Nawaz Sharif would do politics only in Jeddah.
