GUJRAT - The sole official maternity hospital in Mangowal Garbi is running without free medicines facility whilst its x-ray machine and an ambulance which went out of order in 2006 are still knackered. Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Ashraf told this scribe that the hospital had been functioning sans medicines for a long time. The district administration has not taken any measure despite repeated appeals. The poor patients themselves have to buy medicines from private medical stores. However, the out of order x-ray machine and apparatus of the ambulance are a hurdle in smoothly providing medical facilities for the local citizens. Moreover, due to power loadshedding, electronics appliances and other machines have been burnt.
