OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The squad of 23 men and women Karate players reached home n Friday through Wahga Border after winning the South Asian Karate Championship held in New Delhi. The champion squad won a total of 14 medals including seven gold, four silver and three bronze medals. The squad won the championship after defeating India in the team round. The team was accorded a warm welcome at Wahga Border by a large crowd. Women members of the squad dominated the event by taking a total of eight medals out of the total 14. Kulsum claimed two gold, silver and a bronze while Beenish Akbar grabbed two gold, and a bronze. Beenish Khan claimed one silver medal. Saadi Abbas, Imtiaz and Baz Muhammad earned the gold medals for the team in the boys category. Talking to media, gold medallists Saadi Abbas said: We are very delighted on this win and it was due to our hard working and dedication to the game therefore we managed to defeat arch-rivals Indian to win the champ ship.
