OUR STAFF REPORTER SARGODHA - Nurses observed strike and staged a protest demonstration against alleged police torture on their colleagues in Lahore. Scores of nurses also took out a rally from the District Headquarters Hospital. Shouting slogans, they demanded that the chief justice of Pakistan should take notice of the police torture and ensure implementation of their salary package. The infuriated nurses said that their protest would continue till the fulfilment of their demands. Pakistan Medical Association Sargodha President Dr Sikandar Hayat Waraich sympathised with them, declaring that if their demands were not met, the doctors would also join the strike. Due the strike, patients and their attendants faced difficulties in the public sector hospitals of the district.
