LAHORE The worn out state of Muslims can only be bettered by doing research in the scientific field. Lack of scientific research has led the nation to a sorry state of affairs in social and economic fields. These comments were made in the concluding session of Students Research Training Workshop held under the aegis of Islamic Research Council Pakistan (IRCP) at Jamia Naeemia here on Friday. The speakers including Mufti Muhammad Karim Khan, Prof Aqeel Ahmad, Moulana Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Tahir Raza Bukhari the Director General Auqaf, Dr Rao Irtza and Prof Waris Shaheen highlighted the need of scientific education and research, adding the nations of Muslim world should reduce differences and concentrate on learning the new knowledge. They said the youth must be focused so that they could play a constructive role in national development. The students of Madaris, they stressed, should learn modern education so that the big threat of terrorism could be confronted. The DG Auqaf, in his address, expressed that the department would extend its support to the students of seminaries in the field of research and education.
