QUETTA - A complete shutterdown strike was observed in different Baloch-dominated areas of the province on Friday to condemn the discovery of bullet-riddled bodies of Baloch nationalist leaders Jalil Reki and Younus Baloch. Baloch Republican Party (BRP) and Baloch National Movement (BNM) had given strike call which was also supported by other Baloch nationalist and political parties. The bullet-riddled bodies of Jalil Reki leader of BRP and Younus Baloch leader of BNM were recovered from Turbat three days ago, however, their identity was confirmed on Thursday. Jalil Reki had gone missing on February 12, 2009 and Younus Baloch on June 22 this year. All shops, markets, banks, restaurants and all business activities remained closed for the day due to the strike while life remained at a standstill in these areas owing to the strike. The strike was observed in Panjgour, Khuzdar, Nushki, Wadh Awaran, Suraab, Gwadar and other areas. However, strike in Quetta was partial as shops located in Baloch-dominated areas including Sariab, Brewery Road, Joint Road and Double Road were closed.
