Akthar Mengal booked for threatening Khuzdar DC

QUETTA - A case has been registered against Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) Chief and MPA, Sardar Akthar Mengal in Khuzdar Police Station on Monday.
According to police, Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Muhammad Ayaz Mandokhail registered FIR against BNP-Mengal President Sardar Akhtar Mengal under Section 504 and 506.
“The DC has pleaded in the application that during the submission of nomination papers for Local Bodies polls Sardar Akthar Mengal hurled life threats ,” police sources said, adding, that DC had sought security in the application.
BNP-Mengal leaders, Ghulam Nabi Marri, Malik Naseer Shahwani and Mir Ghulam Rasool Mengal have strongly condemned the registration of FIR against Sardar Akthar Mengal.
They said that registration of case against Party chief, abduction of party leaders in Nushki and Harnai and killing of party candidates were aimed at to distance the party from upcoming LB polls.
INP adds:Sardar Akhtar Mengal is the Chief of Balochistan National Party and he remained the Chief Minister of the province during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s second term in late 1990s until his provincial government was toppled by the then federal government.
He was elected as an MPA during the general elections held in May this year from his home town Wadh.
His hometown Wadh and Khuzdar are considered to be the most sensitive areas of Balochistan.
