Distribution of 5,250 quilts to flood-hit begins

The distribution of blankets and quilts among flood affectees has begun in Multan as 750 affectees received quilts here at Bagh Langy Khan Flood Rehabilitation Centre here on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for prisons Abdul Waheed Arrain distributed quilts and declared that a total of 5,250 quilts would be distributed in seven rehabilitation centres of Multan district. Speaking on this occasion, he assured the flood affectees that they would also be given dry ration packets. He said that the government set a new record by accomplishing the task of distribution of aid goods and funds among the flood victims in record time.
He said that latest technology was used to assess the losses. He said that the opponents of the government kept doing politics atop their containers while Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif personally approached flood affectees and participated in the flood relief operation. He disclosed that over 90 percent flood affectees had received assistance so far. He told the journalists that the joint teams of NADRA and PDMA conducted assessment survey under third-party system to ensure transparency. He said that those pointing fingers at this transparent system wanted to mislead the nation.
