ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court of Pakistan Tuesday directed the Punjab government to submit a report over deaths of several infants at a state-run hospital in Sargodha.

The Human Rights Cell of the Supreme Court had prepared a summary based on the news clippings for the perusal of Chief Justice of Pakistan. Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk, on this summary, took administrative notice of the situation.Punjab Health Department has been asked to submit a report in the next 48 hours.Around 22 infants have died at District Headquarters Hospital Sargodha within a week apparently due to lack of oxygen. However, the hospital administration has denied the claim.
