Many accidents including several fatalities happen while reversing vehicles. Vehicles imported from abroad are mostly fitted with rearview camera systems which is an excellent safety device costing a fraction of the vehicle price, for as low as Rs10,000. The concerned traffic safety authorities and the local assemblers of four wheelers should please examine the necessity of rearview camera systems as a standard fitting and also provide refitting facility for older vehicles.
