Islamabad-Institute of Professional Development, International Islamic University, Islamabad in collaboration with a Dubai-based organisation held a nationwide robotics seminar at Faisal Masjid campus where it was announced that a Korean-based company would provide two complementary robotics labs.

The IIUI and the Dubai-based company also agreed to include robotics in IIUI schools’ curriculum , while working robotics models were displayed in the seminar.

During the seminar, more than 200 teachers were trained on use of robotics in education in the IIUI schools .  International speakers from South Korea, UAE, New Zealand and Philippines participated in the daylong event. As many as 500 delegates from Pakistan participated in the seminar while faculty members from Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences and students also attended the seminar.

Dr Bashir Khan, acting president IIUI , resolved for providing science and technology education in the IIUI schools .

The event was also attended by Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik. International speakers included Amirah Williams, Cho, Gonely and Burhan. Khaled Al Aswadi, representative of the Dubai-based company, offered two complementary labs to be setup at the IIUI IPD. He also showed interest in collaboration with the IIUI Faculty of Engineering and Technology.  Dr Saeed ul Hasan Chishti, director IPD, said that for the first time in Pakistan, robotics was being included in the curriculum of IIUI schools from the next session of the schools .
