Repeating his demand for earlier elections in the country, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Sunday said Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal should immediately resign in wake of the protests that have gripped various cities.
“Law Minister Zahid Hamid should also have taken responsibility and resigned much earlier,” he said in a statement issued by the party.

"It was time the Sharif's puppet PM along with the interior minister resign at once as they have totally mishandled a situation that could have been dealt with in a timely and prudent manner."
Criticising Saturday's botched crackdown against Tehreek-e-Labaik, Imran said the operation "led to violence spreading across the country".
"Death and destruction have resulted across the country with people being killed, hundreds injured and public and private properties destroyed," the statement added.
