Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s residence attacked
Law Minister Zahid Hamid’s residence in Sialkot was attacked by supporters of religious parties.
According to media report, over 100 protesters vandalised and pelted stones at Hamid’s house that is situated in Pasrur near Sialkot. Only a dozen security guards were posted at the house, many of whom were injured in the attack, following which additional security forces were summoned.
The police arrested over a dozen protesters who were involved in the attack from the scene. The law minister’s family members were not at home at the time of the attack.
N MPA resigns in protest
PML-N MPA from PP-37 (Sarghoda-X) Sahibzada Ghulam Nizamuddin Sialvi has resigned in the wake of crackdown on protestors at Faizabad interchange in Rawalpindi.
Having huge vote bank of followers due to attachment of spiritual leader, whose shrine is situated in Sial Sharif at Sargodha-Jhang Road, he urged all his followers to relinquish PML-N membership and all government’s offices. Sialvi was considered as staunch activist of PML-N. Meanwhile another PMLN’s MNA Sheikh Waqas Akram has asked government to release arrested workers with immediate effect. He has also threatened to relinquish the NA’s seat whereas asked State minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman to resign.
