Pakistan, Malaysia agree to strengthen relations between air forces

Royal Malaysian Air Force Chief General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi Bin Buang visited the Air Headquarters, Islamabad, on Monday and discussed issues of professional and mutual interests with the Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan.

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) contingent presented a guard of honour to the visiting dignitary upon his arrival at Air Headquarters. The Royal Malaysian Air Force chief paid homage to the martyrs of PAF by a laying floral wreath on the Martyrs’ Monument.

Later on, he spoke to Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan in his office regarding various matters of professional and mutual interest. The Royal Malaysian Air Force chief appreciated the sound professionalism of PAF personnel and lauded PAF’s key role in the war against terrorism.

The PAF air chief briefed the visiting dignitary about the on-going indigenisation projects being taken up by PAF in recent years. During the meeting, both the dignitaries agreed to promote mutual cooperation and defence ties which will further strengthen cordial relations and friendship between the two air forces.

The chief of Royal Malaysian Air Force was visiting Pakistan on the special invitation of PAF and would also visit the forthcoming four-day IDEAS-2018 starting from November 27, at Expo Centre, Karachi.
