KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti on Sunday said that the enemies of Islam wanted to pit Muslims against each other in the name of Shia-Sunni differences. Shia-Sunni differences are not an issue of Pakistan or Iran, its the conspiracy of anti-Islam elements that want to hatch the conspiracy against Muslims. We shall jointly respond to these Machiavellian approaches, he vowed in a meeting with Iranian Consular General Agha Masood Zamani. In a press statement issued, Jamaat-e-Islami four-member delegation led by JI Karachi chief Mohammad Husssain Mehanti, Karachi secretary Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Karachis Foreign Affairs Incharge Muzaffar Hashmi, and Information Secretary Sarfaraz Ahmed met Iranian diplomats. They expressed their condolence on the attacks on Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and Iranian tribal notables, which claimed 41 lives in the Sesstaan province. JI delegation said that the attack was part of an anti-Pakistan agenda, saying that western powers and US wanted to pit Muslims against each other for their vested interests. They hoped that the solidarity and unity of Muslim Ummah should foil the conspiracy of west and US against Muslim Ummah.
