Lingering enmity claims 2 more lives

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A lingering enmity which has already claimed the lives of several people of the rival sides took two more lives on Tuesday when two armed rivals shot dead a 45-year-old landlord and his maternal nephew in Lakhanpura area. The fresh victims of the hostility were identified as Shabbir Ahmed and his 35-year-old nephew Akram. A passerby also sustained critical injuries. Eyewitnesses said that two motorcyclists, yet to be identified, who were riding a numberless bike, sprayed a volley of bullets on their targets. The entire episode hardly took two minutes, an eyewitness Naved Akram said. He said the victims died on the spot. They were returning home after appearing before a judge and were killed by their rivals belonging to the Shahbaz group, an investigator said, adding several people have been killed from both sides so far. The Edhi ambulances reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the morgue.
