RAWALPINDI - Like Lahore and Multan, scores of students of various colleges took to the to press the Punjab government as well as officials of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISER) to cancel Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II results which they claimed were published wrongly online by the board. The enraged students, among them majority belonged to Government Asghar Mall College, marched on Benazir Bhutto Road (BBR) by carrying bamboo sticks in their hands disturbing smooth flow of traffic. They also agitated outside BISER building at 6th Road and torched tyres. They also bellowed slogans against government and board high ups.According to details, a large number of students of government as well as private colleges gathered outside Government Gordon College to hold a protest demo against Punjab government and BISER officials for publishing wrong HSSC Part II results on internet. Police also reached the spot to control the situation. However, the students started heading towards BISER building in shape of rally passing through BBR. Students protest triggered a massive gridlock on BBR blocking traffic also on its adjoining roads, creating troubles for commuters. The students turned violent when the reached outside BISER building at 6th Road and started chanting slogans against provincial government and board officials. They burnt the tyres in the middle of the road to express their anger. They demanded of Punjab Chief Minister and BISER officials to cancel the results of HSSC Part-II announced by the board. Some officials of board came out and negotiated with students. They ensured the students that their apprehensions would be removed. On this the students dispersed.
