Tori, Bangash tribes ink peace accord

PARACHINAR (APP) - The elders of Bangash and Tori tribes Tuesday inked an agreement, pledging to work for bolstering peace efforts in Kurram Agency. The peace agreement was signed by Haji Jamal Bangesh and Mir Zaman Bangesh on behalf of the Bangesh tribes of Boshera while Haji Rehman Khan and Engr Wazir Ali from the Tori tribes during a jirga meeting here. Kurram Agency Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah was present on the occasion. It was decided that the violators will pay Rs8 million. The tribesmen vowed to remain peaceful and work for promotion of peace in Kurram Agency. The political agent highly appreciated the tribal elders efforts for peace and harmony in the agency. He said talks with Malikhel and Boshra tribes were underway and peace agreement would soon be reached. The agency administrator said peace was gradually coming to Kurram Agency and elements trying to disrupt peace would not be allowed. He urged tribesmen to identify miscreants in the areas. He announced a ban on use of wireless on the demand of tribesmen.
