LAHORE - Prominent cardiologists from Pakistan and other countries delivered lectures during technical session of International Conference on Cardiology at a local hotel on the second day on Friday.

Punjab Institute of Cardiology has organised the three day conference and PIC Health Talk to equip young doctors with modern development in cardiac surgery.  The organisers also showed different surgical procedures to the participants through video link from the PIC. Prof Stephen Richards, Prof Antonio Colombo, Dr Mohan Noir, Dr Assad Saleem, Dr Salman Munir and Dr Nadeem Hayyat Malik shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. The conference will conclude on Saturday (today).

water filtration plant  for LGH

A water filtration plant will be installed at Lahore General Hospital at a cost of Rs 2 million to facilitate patients and their attendants. The project, funded by Patients Welfare Society, will be completed next month. The capacity of the new water filtration plant will be 2,000 gallon water per hour.

This was informed at a meeting presided by Prof Anjum Habib Vohra, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and LGH here on Friday. Administrative doctors and office bearers of Patients Welfare Society attended the meeting.

Prof Anjum Habib Vohra told that the said water filtration plant would have two outlet points, one at Outdoor Patients Department and the other at Neuro Surgical Block so as to provide clean drinking water to maximum people.  He said that hospital staff would also be benefitted by this facility. He told that plantation would be done at all the open places on the premises of the hospital.
