LAHORE - The Government College University Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences has produced two Doctors of Philosophy in the field of Mathematics.

GCU scholars Saima Ashraf and Ammara Nosheen completed their thesis on topics “Cohomology of Configuration Spaces of Complex Projective Surfaces” and ‘’Differential Equations and Inclusion in Abstract Spaces’’ under the supervision of foreign mathematician Dr. Barbu Berceanu and Dr. Tzanko Donchev respectively.

AWARDED: GCU Lahore VC Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman Friday gave away cash awards to the members of the university’s Nazir Ahmed Music Society for setting an unprecedented record of winning the prestigious Syed Wajid Ali Team Trophy for the sixth consecutive year at the All Pakistan Music Conference (APMC) 2013. The VC hosted a cash awarding ceremony in the honor of the university’s APMC medalists at the Abdus Slam Hall which was attended by all large number of students and teachers. Speaking on the occasion, GCU NAMS Incharge Tariq Farhani said that he had been part of GCU since 1964, but it was first time in the last 49 year that the head of this great institution had hosted a ceremony in the honor of his students and gave away cash awards to them.
