SIALKOT - At least two citizens were injured seriously by the mortar shells fired by Indian Border Security Forces on their houses in Sialkot bordering village Wada Dhamala in Charwah Sector on Friday.

According to the senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, the BSF continued unprovoked heavy shelling on Sialkot border villages. Several Indian mortar shells hit houses, injuring Muhammad Ameen and Jaffar Hussain seriously.  The Indian shells hit Muhammad Ameen in his belly and Jaffar Hussain in his legs when they were sitting in their houses.

The Rescue 1122 Sialkot officials shifted both the injured to Combine Military Hospital (CMH) Sialkot where their condition was stated to be very critical.

Several cattle were also killed by the Indian shelling as the mortar shells hit their sheds in Bajwat, Chaprar, Charwah, Shakargarh and Bajra Garhi sectors along the Sialkot Working Boundary.

The Chenab Rangers retaliated effectively and responded in a befitting manner, silencing the Indian guns.

This indiscriminate firing by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) created panic and harassment among the local people in Charwah and Bajwat sectors and surrounding areas along the Sialkot Working Boundary here.

The harvesting of the paddy and other seasonal crops has been suspended for the last 11 consecutive days in Sialkot bordering villages in Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh and Shakargarh sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary here due to Indian shelling.

In Shakargarh sector of Sialkot Working Boundary, residents of Abiyaal Dogar, Thakarpur and Deera Kingra villages have vacated their houses and shifted to safer places due to prolonged Indian shelling.

The residents of Joiyaan Charwah, Sialkot tehsil, staged a demonstration against the unprovoked Indian shelling on their villages. The protesters, including women and children, wore black arm bandages and chanted slogans against the Indian Border Security Forces for targeting civilian population. Dozens of houses of the poor villagers, their cattle, a mosque and other buildings were badly damaged by the Indian shelling in this village during the last few days.

Chenab Rangers DG Maj-Gen Tahir Khan and Sialkot Sector Commander Brig Mateen Ahmed Khan visited the Indian shelling-hit villages in Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh and Shakargarh sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary and witnessed the damages caused to the properties.

It was the 11th consecutive day of Indian shelling on Sialkot border villages. The BSF is targeting the civilian population, violating the international laws.
