ISLAMABAD - Kashmiri leaders Sunday lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for raising long standing Kashmir issue during his visit to United States and termed Pak-US consensus a good omen to resolve it.

Commenting on PM’s visit to US, President Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party Sardar Khalid Ibrahim said the Prime Minister had discussed all issues including Jammu and Kashmir with the US President Barack Hussain Obama.

And it is heartening to note that a consensus has emerged between the two leaders on resolving the issues.

He lauded the sagacity of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for highlighting the core issue of Kashmir.

He appreciated the Prime Minister for frustrating the Indian plans of avoiding the raising of Kashmir issue.

Terming the PM’s visit to US as most successful, Deputy Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly, Shaheen Kausar Dar lauded the highlighting of the Kashmir issue.

The PM had apprised the American leadership about the tyranny of Indian occupied forces in held Kashmir in most effective way.

She said the Prime Minister had also talked about the importance of granting the right to self determination to Kashmiris.

The Kashmiri leadership was also determined to continue their struggle granting the right to self determination to Kashmiris.

She said the cruel attitude of India with Kashmiris had polluted the atmosphere of the entire region. Pakistan was an atomic power and Indian attitude is dangerous for the peace of the entire region.

She urged international community to ensure plebiscite in Kashmir, so that the Kashmiris could lead their life in accordance with wishes and believes.

Amir Jamat-e-Islami Abdul Rashid Turabi demanded practical measures for resolving the core Kashmir issue including launching a campaign at diplomatic level to expose Indian designs.

He said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ulterior motives have endangered the peace of entire world.

He lauded the stance of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif regarding Indian violations of Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary.

He said Kashmir issue remained top agenda item during Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s visit to United States.

Deputy Opposition Leader in AJK Legislative Assembly and Senior Vice President Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Chaudhry Tariq Farooq said the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue in light of United Nation’s resolution is the only way for avoiding full scale war between two nuclear powers.

He said PM’s visit was a big success and important in the perspective of fast changing situation of the region including implementation on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). India was hatching a conspiracy to make Pakistan’s nuclear programme controversial and India also continuously violating LoC and Working Boundary.

During the visit to US, he said the PM has made it clear that Pakistan is a sovereign country having an independent foreign policy.

Member Legislative Assembly and leader of Muslim Conference Malik Nawaz hoped that the visit would help further cementing Pak-US relations and positive development in resolution of Kashmir issue.
