LAKKI MARWAT - Opposition members in Lakki Marwat tehsil council have alleged that the bigwigs of tehsil government are bypassing them in all matters pertaining to the affairs of the council and local government.

Talking to media men here on Sunday, Haji Farhanullah, Haji Juma Raz and others said that the recently held budget session had exposed the intentions of tehsil nazim who wanted to bypass the opposition. They said that an atmosphere was being created to keep councillors of opposition benches away from the meetings of tehsil council.

Referring to the budget meeting, they said that opposition members were not informed about the schedule and agenda of the meeting on time. “It was agreed between treasury and opposition benches that the councillors would be informed about the tehsil council meetings at least three days before the fixed dates,” they claimed.

“The tehsil nazim and his team did not even bother to provide copies of the budget speech and documents to the opposition members,” they claimed.

“In the budget session the opposition members requested the convener to adjourn the meeting and he agreed to the proposal but failed to get it implemented due to the pressure by treasury benches,” they maintained.
