Due to rift internal rift in the party, PML-N Sindh president Senator Nehal Hashmi has been canvassing for an independent candidate here against his party’s one ahead of the local bodies elections.

Hashmi visited Bahawalnagar aiming to join the election campaign of independent candidate at U/C 34 against Syed Qalandar Shah, brother of MNA Syed Asghar Shah.

Qalandar Shah has got the support of PML-N while Hashmi is canvassing against Qalandar and for the independent candidate. Meanwhile, Scores of PML-N worker staged a protest demonstration against the PML-N office-bearers.

MSF (Punjab) Vice president Mian Sajjad Haider, District president Adil Shah and City President Waqas Vicky lashed out at Nehal for supporting the rival candidate. They said that Hashmi was canvassing for that candidate who made active participation in a sit-in against the government under the banner of PTI.

His visit is an eye-opener for PML-N leadership, they said. They demanded that Sharifs take stern action over Nehal’s visit for rival candidate, so that the apprehension among the work could be eliminated.
