LAHORE - Police and intelligence operatives yesterday arrested two terror suspects during a joint raid in Shahdara.

Both the suspects, named by the counter-terrorism department officials as Miraj and Amjad, were shifted to an unknown place for further investigations.

Official sources said the police also seized explosive material, hand-grenades, and pistols from their possession. The arrests were made during a pre-dawn raid at a hideout.

The operation was launched after the police received secret information about the presence of two militants there, an official said.

Lost child reunited with parents: The National Highways and Motorway Police yesterday reunited an eight-year-old child with his parents.

A spokesperson for the motorway police said that a bus crew handed over the boy to the police after he was found weeping in the vehicle. After initial investigations, it was learnt that Ghulam Murtaza was traveling along with his father Ghulam Mustafa from Okara to Manga Mandi on a bus. While leaving his son in the bus, the father hurriedly disembarked the vehicle near Manga Mandi. The child was handed over to the police at Sundar bus-stop.

Patrolling officers Tahir Kiyani and Sarfraz picked the boy and managed to trace his father after hectic efforts. The boy was later handed over to his father
