ECP to take up delimitations on 27th

ISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday called an important meeting on October 27 (Friday) to discuss the census as well as delimitations of the existing constituencies as per the new population census for 2018 general elections. This was decided during a meeting held at the ECP, which was chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retired), Sardar Mohammad Raza Khan, which reviewed the situation arising out of the recently held census across the country.

As consequence of the census, number of national and provincial assemblies’ seats would increase and the ECP has to act accordingly to do delimitations of the existing constituencies.

The meeting decided to have briefing from the secretary Law and Bureau Statistics to thrash out the issue before it is time barred.
