SIALKOT-The District Overseas Pakistanis Committee Sialkot has disposed of 170 out of total 268 complaints filed by the overseas Pakistanis but the remaining 98 are still unresolved.

District Overseas Pakistanis Committee Chairman Tariq Akhtar Subhani while addressing a meeting held at Sialkot DC Office said that the overseas Pakistanis were the ambassadors of Pakistan abroad. As, he added, they play a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy by sending the precious foreign exchange to Pakistan.

Addressing the meeting, the DC said that the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) was making efforts to provide maximum facilities and relief for the overseas Pakistanis. They are striving to ensure early solution to their problems in Pakistan.

He said that the overseas Pakistanis committees have also been established at tehsil level in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils to solve the local overseas Pakistanis problems at local level.

Man shot dead at Chowk

GUJRANWALA-Man was gunned down by unknown persons here at Alam Chowk in Aroop police station limits here on Wednesday.

It was reported that Haji Muhammad Yousaf was going to home when unknown persons opened fire at him resultantly he received a bullet at his head and died on the spot. Aroop police have registered a case and started investigations.

Meanwhile, two persons died in road accidents here at G.T road near Wapda Town and Kotli Rustam. It was told that Abdul Qadir 30 years old was crossing the road near Kotli Rustam when an oil tanker ran over him.

Injured man was rushed to DHQ hospital where he breathed his last. In another incident a speeding car crushed to death a man while crossing the road near Wapda town. The identity of the deceased was yet to be known.
