QUETTA - Balochistan IGP Moazzam Jah Ansari Wednesday said foolproof measures will be streamlined for the safety of media houses, newspapers, press clubs, newspaper markets, journalists and hawkers across the province. 

Chairing a high-level moot to review the threats given by some outlawed organisations to media houses, journalists and hawkers, the IGP announced no hurdle in the supply of newspapers would be tolerated,  

Information Secretary Abdul Fateh, DIG Police Abdul Razzaaq Cheema, Quetta Commissioner Amjad Ali Khan and representatives of various organisations of journalists and owners of newspapers attended the meeting. 

The participants of the meeting discussed several suggestions regarding safety of media houses, press clubs, journalists and newspapers offices. The meeting was held after some banned outfits threatened journalists with dire consequences for not giving them coverage.  

­The police chief told the meeting that the Balochistan chief minister believes in complete freedom for journalism, adding they will ensure safety to those associated with this field.
