THE 24-year-old, who has embarked on a high-profile crusade against music piracy, wrote that she could no longer make money from singing - but the comments were later removed. Allen is preparing for a West End stage role in Neil LaButes Reasons to Be Pretty. But her publicist insisted today that she was not turning her back on music and is not thinking about her next record as she is still promoting her second hit album Its Not Me, Its You. The singer made the comments on a blog she set up to discuss file-sharing on the internet, a subject which has sparked fierce debate. She wrote: Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record. She continued: I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade. The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as Im concerned, so I dont (at this point) stand to profit from legislation. Except future purchases of previously recorded material. The singer later shut down the blog, explaining on Twitter that the abuse was getting too much. She said: Im proud of the fact that Ive been involved with this debate but Im passing the baton on to other artists.
