The Supreme Court in its landmark judgement of 31st July, 2009 which was issued by a bench comprising of 14 honourable judges, had once again reiterated ground rules for fresh and pending cases falling in various categories. The main focus of the judgement was to purge lower judiciary of corruption, sleaze and nepotism and provide, at the same time, speedy justice to litigants to ensure that common man knocking at the doors of judiciary gets his due. The efforts of the superior judiciary are laudable but gross irregularities are still being committed in the lower courts. -SHEIKH AFTAB AHMAD, Lahore, September 18.
