LAHORE All Parities Conference (APC) on Kashmir has called upon the Government to exploit diplomatic means to prevent further bloodshed of Kashmiri people at the hands of Indian forces and show no laxity in supporting the on going movement in held Kashmir which, it says, has entered into decisive phase. Held under the auspices of Jamaat-e-Islami, Punjab here on Saturday, the APC through a joint communiqu called for immediate withdrawal of the Indian forces from Kashmir. The speakers expressed strong resentment over inadequate support to Kashmir movement by the government and held Musharraf regime as well as the president government responsible for causing huge loss to the Kashmir movement. They said that the people of Pakistan would fully support liberation of Kashmiri people. It condemned the atrocities on the Kashmiri people and urged the OIC to play role in the present struggle of Kashmiri people. The APC, presided over by JI Punjab Ameer, Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar, expressed concerns over apathy of the international community to the brutality of Indian forces in Kashmir and said, it was being committed under the patronage of America and Israel and the cold response by Pakistan rulers and their photo-sessions with the Indian rulers was highly regrettable. APC asked the international community, the UN and the NGOs to play their role in solving Kashmir issue by forcing India to act upon the UN Resolutions that promises right to self determination to Kashmiri people. For the sake of ensuring stable Pakistan as per vision of Quaid-e-Azam, the APC required the government to act upon the Supreme Court decisions and end corruption, favouritism and looting of the national wealth. The APC was attended by the representatives of religious parties, political parties and the traders. Those who spoke and gave their input to promote the Kashmir cause included JI AJK Ameer, Abdul Rashid Turrabi, General (r) Rahmat Latif, Ameer Hamza of Jamatud Dawa, Khwaja Saad Rafiq, Allama Zubar Ahmad Zaheer of Jamait Ahle Hadith, Maulana Amjad Khan of JUI(F), Dr Farid Ahmad Peracha, Ameerul Azeem, Saifullah Saif, Abdul Ghafoor Rohery, Zafar Jmal Baloch, Abdul Ghaffar Khaksar Munawar Lodhi, Khaksar Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf, Azam Baig, Muhammad Khan Leghari, M Shafi Josh, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Ziauddin Ansari, and others. No one represented the PPP despite the fact, as Dr Waseem said, he had personally phoned PPP leader Samiullah Khan who had assured him of appearance or at least making representation of his party in the APC. The speakers wanted Pakistan government and the military not to ignore the option of war with India regarding Kashir issue and always be prepared for it. General Rahat said that if Kashmir remained unresolved, we would need to fight another war with India. We have to do it before the situation we face today in case of Dr Aafia Siddiqui wherein we got awakened when America had played its game, he added. The speakers said Indian state-sponsored tyranny and oppression cannot daunt Kashmiris from achieving freedom. They said the conscience of the rulers for Kashmiri people had become dead and this appeared from Dr Aafias episode. They demanded for constituting a committee of strategic experts, intellectuals, politicians and people of different schools of thought to raise Kashmir issue at the international level. Majority was of the view that Jihad is the only option to resolve Kashmir. Regarding the present phase of struggle in held Kashmir they said, it had baffled the Indian government and the movement would not come to end without results. Dr Waseem Akhtar blamed Musharraf for dividing Hurriyat Conference. Khwaja Saad Rafiq termed our subservience to big powers a big reason behind our retreat including that on Kashmir. He accused Musharraf for giving a serious blow to our stand on Kashmir and by announcing one sided ceasefire. Saad voiced for making a permanent committee of the Parliament on Kashmir so that no one could deviate from our policy on it. He also charged Musharraf for facilitating Nato occupation in Afghanistan adding that Kashmir movement was in the hands of Kashmiri youth now. Abdul Rashid Turrabi said today the youth of Kashmir were one under the leadership of Syed Ali Geellani who considers himself Pakistani first and then Kashmiri. He said it was time not only the rulers but Nawaz Sharif should also come forward to counter the Indian negative tactics on the Kashmiris struggle as well as to internationalize the issue. The movement has reached a point that if not taken seriously, it can lead to any 'untoward incident, he maintained adding, no one should doubt about Kashmiris desire to be a part of Pakistan. The APC also carried a resolution against the price hike in the country.
