Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid said on Monday that a draft bill for Access to Information would be presented before the cabinet for approval.

The minister said that Access to Information would be a comprehensive law which will ensure fundamental rights of media as well as people of the country.

Pervaiz Rashid said that the bill got delayed due to elaborated study needed to make it comprehensive and according to the future needs.

The federal minister said that law ministry had finalised the draft bill and it will be presented in the next cabinet meeting for approval.

Pervaiz Rashid said the bill had been prepared in the same format, which was approved by a standing committee of Senate unanimously.
