HAFIZABAD- Five bandits allegedly snatched a rice-laden truck, worth millions of rupees, after torturing its driver and conductor severely here on Pindi Bhattian Road the other night.

According to police source, driver Altaf Hussain along conductor Sajjad Hussain was transporting 250 sacks of rice on truck (MNI-337) from Jalalpur Bhattian. The consignment was to be delivered at Multan but when they reached near Asghar Chowk on Pindi Bhattian, five bandits, riding a car, intercepted the truck.

The outlaws severely tortured both the driver and the conductor, forcing them get down from the vehicle and bundled them into the car. Two of the dacoits, however, drove off the truck, carrying 250 sacks of rice, to an unidentified location.

Later, the accused threw the driver and conductor at a deserted place on Sangla Hill Road. According to police, the rice worth millions of rupees in the market and registered a case without any clue or arrest.

Meanwhile, three bandits intercepted a bike-rider Muhammad Nawaz, resident of Chak Behlol near Sagar and deprived him of a cellphone and Rs5,000. The police have registered a case as usual and started investigation.
