During his visit to the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on Wednesday, Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas said that all support will be extended to improve the ICT interventions in the education sector of Punjab to bring revolutionary changes for the betterment of education.

Information Technology University (ITU) Vice Chancellor and PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif gave a detailed briefing on the introduction of ICT interventions on school monitoring, students’ assessment, e-learning and real-time attendance of the teachers and students.

“These systems have eliminated the chances of any fake admissions or ghost schools across the Punjab province,” he said.

He informed that the books of science and mathematics for classes 6 to 12 have already been digitalised, while 800 schools have so far been equipped with smartphones.

Dr Murad Raas commented that science subjects i.e. physics, chemistry should remain in English as these subjects have vast material in English. The education minister also visited the Citizen Complaint Center (CCC) along with the senior officers of the education department.
