Bahawalpur - Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Captain Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, while presiding over a review meeting on price control, directed the Deputy Commissioners, DPOs and administrative officers of the three districts i.e. Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yarkhan to ensure uninterrupted supply of sugar at the rate of Rs90/- per kg fixed by the government. He also directed to take stern action against those involved in grand selling and hoarding during the video link meeting. Commissioner Bahawalpur directed that check posts should be activated to discourage inter-provincial shipments of sugar and records of wholesalers’ warehouses should also be compiled. He said that no hindrance would be tolerated in the supply of flour, pulses, vegetables and other essential commodities at fixed rates. Ensure that price lists are displayed prominently in all shops, he directed. He said that in every market the phone number for information and complaint about the concerned price control magistrates should be registered in a prominent place. The commissioner said that the process of auction should be made transparent including strict implementation of auction hours in the vegetable market. He also directed to ensure the supply of other essential commodities including tomatoes, onions and potatoes at fixed rates during the meeting.
