Ministry of Women Development has failed in preventing violence against women both at domestic-level as well as at work place. We daily come across a new kind of violence being meted out to young girls in our society. Countless cases of violence against women are not reported at all or if they are, no prosecution takes place. Laws are framed but their effective implementation is not done. Unless we begin to feel the fear of Allah and make ourselves accountable to Him from the core of our hearts, nothing is going to change. -ADEENA FIAZ, Islamabad, via e-mail, April 16.
