LAHORE - Lahore High Court on Monday adjourned till May 11 the hearing of a suo moto case against affiliation of Fatima Jinnah Medical Collage (FJMC) with the University of Health Sciences (UHS). An application for adjournment was submitted to the court of Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif on Monday on behalf of the counsel for UHS and on this the court deferred the hearing till May 11. The chief justice directed the Punjab govt to submit on next date hearing the minutes of the meeting, in which FJMC was affiliated to UHC from Punjab University. The FJMC students had resented the decision of the govt to affiliate it with newly-made UHS against the consent of the students. The chief justice had taken a suo moto notice of the matter on the continuous protests of students of FJMC against the affiliation of the collage with UHS by detaching it from Punjab University.
