FEROZEWALA - A local landlord, Sikander, was shot dead while his brother Zakaullah sustained serious bullet injuries when their rivals opened indiscriminate fire on them, at village Jewan Goraga within the precinct of Narang Police Station on Monday. The police have started investigation against Fayyaz, Zubair, Shehbaz and Riaz, the family members of the deceased, who have been accused of the murder. 500 gunny bags recovered The police during different raids on Monday recovered 500 gunny bags (jute bags), to be supplied to the farmers by the Food Department in connection with wheat procurement process. According to details, a special police team on suspicion raided the house of a contractor, Rafiullah, in Muridke and recovered 213 bags, which he intended to sell in the open market. Similarly, in Sharaqpur, 150 bags were seized from the house of Rafaqat while 137 more bags were recovered from another premises. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
